  • The Rich History of the Regent Hotel

If walls could speak, ours would tell stories spanning over a century. Built in the 1920s, the Regent Hotel is one of the oldest family-owned hotels in Canada and the longest-running family business in Revelstoke.

  • The Windsor Hotel & The Selkirk Hotel

Before becoming the Regent, the property was actually two neighboring hotels: the Windsor Hotel and the Selkirk Hotel. The Windsor Hotel was purchased in 1919 by Charles Turnross, the son of a Swedish immigrant who came to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1945, the Windsor was renamed the Regent Hotel under new family ownership. It wasn’t until the 1980s that the two neighboring hotels were renovated, modernized, and fully brought together under the Regent name.

  • A Railway Hotel and Community Staple

The Regent’s story is closely tied to Revelstoke itself. Once known as the “Second Crossing,” the town was a key station for the CPR, driving growth through the logging and mining industries. As Revelstoke expanded into a bustling railway community, the Turnross family played an important role in welcoming travelers, railway workers, and newcomers. Over the decades, the hotel has remained a cornerstone of the community, carrying forward a spirit of hospitality and warmth that continues today.

  • A Legacy of Character and Charm

From its heritage architecture to its unique rooms and vibrant spaces, the Regent Hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s a piece of Revelstoke’s story. For over 100 years, families, visitors, and locals alike have experienced the hotel’s charm, character, and welcoming spirit, making every visit memorable.
